Katie da Gama is a litigation specialist with over 20 years’ experience in the area of dispute resolution. Katie qualified as both a Barrister (England & Wales) and a Solicitor (Ireland) and has practised in the litigation departments of some of London and Dublin’s premier law firms. In 2009 she founded the Irish partnership of Beachcroft LLP (now DAC Beachcroft LLP), an international law firm with a strong history in resolving disputes for clients ranging from large multinational insurance companies, public bodies and corporate entities to individuals with niche areas of business challenges.
Katie has mediated over 50 disputes and understands the advantage of having an early discussion on the benefits of alternative dispute resolution. During her time practising in the United States in the late 1990’s Katie became involved in the early beginnings of commercial mediation and this awakened a career-long interest in the mechanism of mediation and how it is of real value to almost any dispute.
In 2017 Katie completed her formal qualification and has become a CEDR Accredited Mediator and is now exclusively practising as an independent mediator. She is also an Approved Mediator with the Mediators’ Institute of Ireland (the MII). Alongside Katie’s practice of mediating civil and commercial disputes, she also offers a range of services for corporate clients who have workplace and/or boardroom challenges that would benefit from mediation or facilitated discussion.
